Wendell standoff ends peacefully

Wendell police arrested one man as a result of a robbery Thursday afternoon.

WENDELL, N.C. — Wendell police arrested one man as a result of a robbery Thursday afternoon.

Police said Drew Colucci told them he was going to visit a friend around 2 p.m. when he was robbed at gunpoint at 12 Griffen Drive.

Officers went to the home to investigate. Police took Kedrick Thomas, of 1 Joneswood Court, into custody. He is charged with armed robbery.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team (SRT) responded to the scene after reports that another suspect was still inside. They ordered the other person out of the house, but got no response.

Just before 8 p.m., SRT members went inside the home but found no one.

There were no injuries.
