PIKEVILLE, N.C. — A Wayne County woman shot and killed her brother Friday night after he tried to harm their 85-year-old father, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Department.

"At this time, the investigation does not justify any charges to be filed" against Jenny Rowe, 49, in the shooting death of her brother, Glenn Neal Rowe, 50, the sheriff's office said.

The shooting happened shortly before 8:20 p.m. at 347 Rose Road in Pikeville. Deputies got to the scene and found Glenn Rowe dead from a gunshot wound.

He "was threatening and appeared to be in the process of harming" their father before the shooting, investigators said. No other information was released.
