CARY, N.C. — A 19-year-old Cary man was charged Thursday with indecent liberties with a child, second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and secret peeping in connection with a series of incidents that began last year, authorities said.

Arrest warrants said that Dalonte Rashad Henry, of 632 Malcolm Valley Place, took indecent liberties with an 11-year-old child on Jan. 1, 2015 and with a 9-year-old child on Feb. 11, 2016.

The warrant states that on Jan. 1, 2015, he took and saved at least eight sexually explicit photos of a boy between six and eight years of age.

On September 21, Henry used a cellphone camera to record a nude 12-year-old boy through a window at night, according to the warrant.

Henry walked into a Wake County courtroom Friday morning to hear the charges against him. Cary Police said their investigation started with a tip to 911 last month.

The caller walked authorities through an incident they said happened months earlier at a Kroger supermarket on Maynard Road. While a juvenile was using the restroom, the caller said an employee placed a cell phone under the stall.

Police confirm Henry worked at the store.

Kroger issued a statement that said, in part, “We are deeply disturbed and saddened by these allegations and the employee in question is no longer employed by Kroger.”

Police said their investigation into Henry led to the discovery of the other crimes.

Henry remained in jail Friday night under $125,000 bond and a request by Wake County Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Reimer that Henry be given no unsupervised contact with minors, including his siblings, was granted.
