RALEIGH, N.C. — A bus driver for the Wake County Public School System resigned Wednesday after being charged with sex crimes, officials said.

John Felix Clemons, 64, of 4421 Tipperary Drive in Raleigh, was charged with indecent liberties with a child and second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was being held in the Wake County jail under an $80,000 bond.

Authorities said Clemons asked a 14-year-old to send him nude photographs and took indecent liberties with the student.

Clemons had worked for the school district for more than four years and was based at Leesville Road High School, according to district spokeswoman Lisa Luten.

If he posts bond, Clemons is prohibited from contacting the 14-year-old and from having any unsupervised contact with anyone under 16, according to court records.
