Police silent on Wake Forest man's disappearance

Neighbors told WRAL News Monday that detectives have spent many hours at the home, at 1401 Sky Hill Place, and have gone door to door asking about the whereabouts of Frank Janssen, 63.

"They were inside the house until late Saturday evening," said Stan Sasinowski "The house was lit up like an airport. They were in there with all their cameras and investigational equipment."

Wake Forest police have said only that Janssen, who lives at the house with his wife, is missing and that they are open to any information from the public about where he might be.

On Saturday, they said they had no reason to believe Janssen might be in danger.

Neighbors say that, while authorities aren't commenting about the case, they are growing increasingly concerned.

"We're a little confused, scared if you will, as to what is going on and why," Sasinowski said.

Sasinowski said he and another neighbor were at Janssen's home Saturday and called police when they noticed about a half-dozen drops of blood on a pathway leading from Janssen's front steps to the grass.

Neighbors also said his phone was found inside the house but that his wallet was missing and some things were out of place.

Janssen is white with gray hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 175 pounds.
