CARY, N.C. — A Wake County family of four lost their home early Tuesday to a fire, authorities said.

Firefighters from Morrisville, Cary, Apex and Durham Highway departments responded to the blaze at 7326 Green Hope School Road, but could not save the house, the battalion chief on the scene said.

The homeowner said his barking dog woke him at around 1:30 a.m. He found fire in the kitchen and was able to get his wife and two children out of the house.

By the time firefighters arrived, the home was fully involved and flames were coming out the windows, the battalion chief said.

No one was injured. The Red Cross was assisting the family.
