Wake County names new principal at Forest Pines Elementary School

The Wake County Board of Education voted Tuesday to name a principal, assistant principal and central services staff member after a closed session meeting to discuss the personnel changes.

CARY, N.C. — The Wake County Board of Education voted Tuesday to name a principal, assistant principal and central services staff member after a closed session meeting to discuss the personnel changes.

The changes are as follows:

Principal

Michelle Bell has been named principal at Forest Pines Elementary School in Raleigh. She has been principal at North Forest Pines Elementary School since 2017 and was principal at Parkwood Elementary School in Durham from 2013 to 2017.

Assistant principal

Kendra Goggins has been named assistant principal at West Lake Elementary School in Apex. She began working at the school this year as a literacy coach/instructional facilitator. She previously taught at Rolesville Elementary School from 2014 to 2018.

Central services

Cynthia Defoor has been named senior director of grants and strategic advancement for Office of Grants. She has served as senior administrator of grants development since 2013 and previously worked as director of development at the N.C. Center for International Understanding from 2000 to 2013.
