— The city's Community Services Department is seeking volunteers to install low-flow shower heads and faucet aerators for low- and moderate-income residents.

To help conserve water during the drought, the City Council agreed to purchase 5,000 low-flow devices for low- and moderate-income people. Many of the people need help installing the devices.

Officials said they hope to begin installing the devices by March 24.

Volunteers are asked to contribute as much time as they can to help with the installations. Anyone interested in volunteering should call Brent Quick at 919-831-6120 or e-mail him at brent.quick@ci.raleigh.nc.us.

You are missing the point. As is usual the high income earners are not only supplying the money to pay for the low flow devices for others are expected to go buy their own devices and either install them or pay to have them installed. This is normal Gubermint behavior. Those that pay for everything get no help.

Why are they targeting only low and moderate income households....how about those with high incomes too. They are not above the rules either....

They will secretly look for illegal garbage disposals while they are in there!

5,000? One needs at several per houshold. That's 1000 -2000 households. Like a flea on an elephant.

Low flow devices on faucets don't save much. One still has to fill the glass, sink or whatever. Now it will just take longer.
Not like a low flow shower head where one can do the job with less water.

Hot water is problematic too. One will have to run the faucet longer to get to the point where hot water flows.

I only see people's time being wasted.
