Vance teen charged with firing pellet gun at cars

A Vance County man was arrested Monday morning after sheriff's deputies tied him to a series of pellets shot at passing cars on Jacksontown Road.

MANSON, N.C. — A Vance County man was arrested Monday morning after sheriff's deputies tied him to a series of pellets shot at passing cars on Jacksontown Road.

Sheriff Peter White said Jose A. Hernandez, 17, faces 16 counts of injury to personal property and could see charges added to his docket.

Hernandez fired sporadically on cars from about 2:30 Sunday afternoon until 9 p.m., White said, hitting 16 of them, including a sheriff's office vehicle.
