CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A student from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is featured in the fall season of "Survivor." Marissa Peterson, 21, joins her uncle, Gervase Peterson on "Survivor: Blood vs. Water," which debuts Sept. 18 on CBS.

This season's "Survivor" pits previous contestants – Gervase was a competitor on "Survivor: Borneo" – against a loved one.

"I don't think every couple is going to choose to support their partner," said host Jeff Probst.

Gervase said of Marissa, "She is just as driven, focused and competitive as me."

The Petersons will compete against each other and nine other pairs for the cash prize.
