Two teens rescued from burning Fayetteville home

Fayetteville firefighters rescued two teenagers who were trapped inside a burning home early Wednesday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville firefighters rescued two teenagers who were trapped inside a burning home early Wednesday.

The blaze broke out at the wooden, single-story home at 4610 Needham Drive, in the Rosewood Estates subdivision. Firefighters said they arrived about 8:15 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the structure.

After being told people were still inside, firefighters made their way in and found a 14-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl. Both were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Their names were not released.

Firefighters said the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Damage was estimated at $20,000.
