MEBANE, N.C. — Orange County authorities are trying to identify two men after a Mebane convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night.

Tim Horne, an investigator with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said that the men entered Pop Shoppe Citgo, 6300 U.S. Highway 70 West, around 9:45 p.m. They displayed a handgun and forced the clerk to give them an undisclosed amount of cash.

A late 1990s, champagne Toyota Camry seen at the store might have been involved in the robbery, Horne said.

One man was described as black, in his early 20s, with a thin build. He wore a solid, dark, leather jacket, dark jeans and white shoes.

The second man was described as black, in his early 20s, with a thin build. He wore a wool cap, dark gray jeans and black shoes. He also wore a dark Cincinnati reds jacket, with red and white markings on the wrists.

Anyone with information about the men's identities should call the Orange County Sheriff’s Office 919-644-3050.
