Two sought in Mebane convenience store robbery
Orange County authorities are trying to identify two men after a Mebane convenience store was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night.
Posted — UpdatedTim Horne, an investigator with the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said that the men entered Pop Shoppe Citgo, 6300 U.S. Highway 70 West, around 9:45 p.m. They displayed a handgun and forced the clerk to give them an undisclosed amount of cash.
A late 1990s, champagne Toyota Camry seen at the store might have been involved in the robbery, Horne said.
One man was described as black, in his early 20s, with a thin build. He wore a solid, dark, leather jacket, dark jeans and white shoes.
The second man was described as black, in his early 20s, with a thin build. He wore a wool cap, dark gray jeans and black shoes. He also wore a dark Cincinnati reds jacket, with red and white markings on the wrists.
