Two shot in Mount Olive

Two people were wounded in a shooting in front of a home on Hillsboro Street in Mount Olive late Saturday, police said.

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — Two people were wounded in a shooting in front of a home on Hillsboro Street in Mount Olive late Saturday, police said.

The shooting took place near the intersection with Connor Street shortly before 10:30 p.m.

Garry Lee Pigford Jr., 28, was shot in the mouth, police said. He was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

Michael Lee Heath, 25, suffered gunshot wounds to the torso, police said.  He was transported to Wayne Memorial and later transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville. He was in the hospital's intensive care unit Sunday.

No arrests have been made.
