Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives have two men in custody in the slaying of 22-year-old Treymane Wayne Council.

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives have two men in custody in the slaying of 22-year-old Treymane Wayne Council.

Shakoor Quayon Williams, 18, of 223 Tiffany Court, was arrested Friday at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he is being held on attempted murder charges in an unrelated case.

He was also charged with shooting and seriously injuring 16-year old Maurice LaQuan McLean, who was walking with Council along Starlit Drive when the shooting occurred.

Antonel Concepcion White, 19, of 3417 Melba Drive, also wanted in Council's slaying, surrendered to authorities Saturday. He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond on charges of first-degree murder, authorities said.

Protesters gathered Tuesday night in Moore Square, calling on the Israeli government to end its invasion of Rafah in Gaza and an end to hostilities between Israel and Hamas. The protesters gathered just after 6 p.m. at the park and began marching down East Hargett Street just after 7 p.m. Those in attendance say they will continue their protests while the war continues.
