Lillington, N.C. — Two people were killed Monday in a car wreck near Campbell University in Harnett County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on U.S. Highway 421 South in Buies Creek about 4:30 p.m. when the car collided with a truck. The wreck happened less than a mile from the university, but authorities said no students were involved. 

No other details about the wreck were released.

They probably added the line about no students being involved to calm the fears of thousands of sets of parents who panicked at the news of a fatal accident so close to campus. Seems reasonable to me.
