Two injured in shooting at Fayetteville McDonald's

Two people were injured, and a third person is in custody following a shooting at a Fayetteville McDonald's Monday afternoon, according to police.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two people were injured, and a third person is in custody following a shooting at a Fayetteville McDonald's Monday afternoon, according to police.

According to police, three men went into the restaurant, located at 4115 Raeford Road, at about 4:15 p.m. to sell two cell phones to a man inside.

During the transaction, the three men robbed the buyer with a handgun. The buyer then started shooting at the three men while still inside of the restaurant, police said.

Two of the three suspects were shot, and a third was taken into custody. The two injured men were taken to a local hospital.

Authorities said an elderly woman was knocked to the ground during the incident as the suspects ran from the scene.

No one inside the restaurant was injured.
