WENDELL, N.C. — Two people were killed Friday in what authorities say was a murder-suicide in Johnston County.

Authorities said that Gerald Denver Harris, 55, and Pamela Gwen Howard, 52, were shot and killed just after 3 p.m. at 159 Deer Tracks Drive.

A next-door neighbor, who said she had been home all day, did not hear anything out of the ordinary.

Timothy Yeager, who lives nearby, said he had regularly delivered pizza to a man and his grown daughter who lived there. Yeager said he was in utter disbelief to hear that there had been deaths at the home.

"His daughter just moved down from Wisconsin to help her dad stay healthy," Yeager said.

A neighbor says the couple moved into the home three years ago.

Authorities have not released any additional details surrounding the shooting.
