— Two Fayetteville men wanted on charges of attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery surrendered to Cumberland County authorities Wednesday.

Timoty Lee Faircloth, 28, and Johnny Ray Oliphant, 28, both of 3514 Carlos Ave., were being held in the Cumberland County jail under separate $100,000 bonds.

According to authorities, Faircloth and Oliphant allegedly robbed 45-year-old Jesus Moreno at gunpoint in a wooded area Tuesday. They took his wallet and fired a shot that grazed Moreno's head.

After Moreno broke free, authorities said Faircloth and Oliphant continued to fire shots at him as he ran to his truck.

Faircloth and Oliphant will make their first court appearance Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.

.pine2..really? Try taking my gun! I have a legal pistol and the right to protect myself from criminals like the ones in this article. Move to Russia and do that type of political mess.

We need someone to come in and confiscate every single gun in the city and Cumberland County as well.

Where do you see the "hate crime charge" or are you just stirring the pot? - WooHoo2You

It wasn't me who put that particular "pot" on the fire here. Ask the first guy who brought it up. I'm inquiring as to how he got hate crime out of this story.-Statick

I apologize; panterap89 was the one I should have addressed.

Is the city of Fayetteville trying to win some kind of violence contest because I swear, they are in the news almost every day about something! Is it really that hard to just live, go to work, and go home without causing a problem or is it just that city? This is getting ridiculous! They should just have a special WRAL section for Fayetteville!

So a hate crime charge because they took the guy's wallet and shot at him because he was Hispanic?-Statick
