FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities said Tuesday that a man and women were killed following a crash and police chase Monday night in Fayetteville.

Moses Jackson, 17, and Asia Boka, 18, were were ejected from the Kia they were riding in when the car ran a red light and collided with a 2016 Hyundai at the intersection of West Russell Street and South Eastern Boulevard. Both died as a result of their injuries.

The Kia, driven by a 15-year-old boy, was leading Cumberland County sheriff's deputies in a chase after they attempted to pull him over.

Two other passengers – Dalisa Watson, 18, and Ganita Frink, 16, – were also in the car at the time.

The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Charles Whitfield, 41, was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. Whitfield was the only passenger in the Hyundai, police said.
