Two dogs die in blaze at Durham home

Fire crews were called to a house on East Main Street in Durham Sunday afternoon to battle flames that left the exterior charred, authorities said.

DURHAM, N.C. — Fire crews were called to a house on East Main Street in Durham Sunday afternoon to battle flames that left the exterior charred, authorities said.

Police arrived at 1306 E. Main St. around 3:10 p.m. and discovered that the fire had started on the back porch.

No one was injured or inside the home at the time, but only one of the residents' three dogs was saved, authorities said.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
