ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police have charged two men in connection with the May 15 shooting death of a 22-year-old man on Cokey Road.

Clayton Jerrell Epps, 22, was leaving a store on Cokey Road in his 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse when he was shot, police said. He then lost control of the car and crashed into some nearby trees.

Epps died at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Brendan Greene, 22, and Tique Williams, 22, both of Rocky Mount, were arrested Monday after investigators developed new leads in the case. Greene and Williams were in the Edgecombe County jail Tuesday under no bond.
