RAEFORD, N.C. — Two men accused of stabbing a man several times and then robbing him at gunpoint in April were arrested over the weekend, Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said Monday.

Dean Austin Stocks, 21, of Raeford, was arrested Saturday and charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. He was being held in the Hoke County jail under a $400,000 secured bond.

Glen Edward Maynor, 16, also of Raeford, was arrested Sunday and faces the same charges. He was being held at the jail under a $500,000 secured bond.

Both men made their first court appearances Monday.

Peterkin said deputies were dispatched to the area around Scurlock School and Rockfish roads in Raeford on April 22, where they found Abundio Reyes Hernandez with multiple stab wounds to the torso.

Hernandez told investigators that the robbers approached him and immediately began stabbing him. Once he fell to the ground, one of the men displayed a shotgun and demanded money.

The men then forcibly stole money from Hernandez and fled on foot.
