FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two men were arrested Wednesday after police said they broke into a Food Lion in Fayetteville and tried to rob the ATM inside.

Brandon Lee McArthur, 25, of the 6800 block of Cooper Creek Drive in Hope Mills, and Michael Devon Johnson, 22, of the 3300 block of Hedgemoor Drive in Spring Lake, are each charged with felony breaking and entering of a building, possession of burglar tools and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.

A witness reported seeing a black, four-door Chevrolet truck speeding away from the area, and an officer stopped the vehicle on Ramsey Street.

Both suspects were held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on $20,000 secured bonds.
