CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Two East Chapel Hill High School students have been disciplined after creating a "hit list" on Facebook in the school's computer lab, officials said Friday.

School administrators characterized the actions by the two 16-year-olds as a prank and said no other students were in danger.

Chapel Hill police traced the source of the posting and continue to investigate the case, but no criminal charges had been filed as of Friday afternoon.

East Chapel Hill High sent an e-mail to parents on Friday to notify them of the situation.
