Troopers reopen I-85 after homicide suspect surrenders
North Carolina troopers reopened a stretch of Interstate 85 in Davidson County Tuesday after they caught an "armed and dangerous" man suspected of homicide and arson in South Carolina.
Posted — Updated"The suspect, who has been identified as Arthur Duval Mims, 45, of 823 Terrance Creek Drive, S.C., has surrendered to authorities," Sgt. Jeff Gordon wrote in a statement to the media.
Davidson County is southwest of Greensboro.
Multiple media outlets report that authorities responding to reports of an early morning shooting at a home in Duncan found the house on fire. Deputies say one person in the home was dead and another was injured.
Authorities said they chased Mims up I-85 from Spartanburg County.
