Troopers need public's help with Harnett vehicle accident

State Troopers would like to talk with any witnesses who saw a vehicle accident on Buffalo Lakes Road near Roberts Road in Harnett County Monday afternoon.

SANFORD, N.C. — State Troopers would like to talk to any witnesses who saw a vehicle accident on Buffalo Lakes Road near Roberts Road in Harnett County Monday afternoon.

The accident happened at around 4:41 p.m. after a Hyundai travelling east on Buffalo Lakes Road crossed the center line, sideswiped a GMC Yukon, then hit a Ford SUV head-on.

The driver of the Hyundai was airlifted to UNC Hospitals. She was last listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Ford SUV was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The driver and four children in the GMC Yukon were treated on the scene for minor injuries.

Troopers, who have not released the identities of the drivers, said they received conflicting reports regarding what happened. Anyone with information about the accident can call 24 hours a day at 800-334-7411.
