State Highway Patrol troopers were investigating two fatal tractor-trailer accidents Sunday – one in Nash County and one in Lee County.
The Nash County accident happened at U.S. Highway 64 and N.C. Highway 58. Authorities said the driver ran off the road and down an embankment.
The truck overturned and broke apart. Troopers withheld the name of the driver, who died at the scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Another accident occurred at U.S. Highway 1 and Pendergrass Road in Lee County. No other details were immediately available.
