Trooper involved in crash on Interstate 40
A state Highway Patrol trooper on Monday afternoon was involved in a vehicle crash on Interstate 40, near Lake Wheeler Road, in Raleigh.
Posted — UpdatedTrooper Michael Davidson was sitting in his cruiser on the left shoulder of I-40 East at about 5:40 p.m. when a vehicle approached from the rear.
The vehicle, which veered to the left to avoid hitting another car, struck the cruiser, said Sgt. Jeff Gordon with the Highway Patrol. The impact sent both cars into the median.
Davidson and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to WakeMed for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Davidson was treated and released.
The name and condition of the passenger vehicle driver was not released.
