Triangle Restaurant News: Rocket Fizz opens second location

RALEIGH, N.C.Rocket Fizz has opened its second Triangle location. The candy and soda shop just opened in the old Quail Corners Creamery at 5017 Falls of Neuse Road in north Raleigh. The store already has a location in Cary.
Dos Taquitos will be moving from Creedmoor Road into the current Taverna Agora building at 6101 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh, restaurant spokesman Ralph Ottaviano told me this week. The move is expected to take place at the end of August. Ottaviano also added that the restaurant will start serving weekday lunch again starting Monday, April 20.
J. Alexander's, a Nashville-based chain specializing in wood-fired cuisine, is planning its first North Carolina location. The restaurant would be located in a vacant lot near Crabtree Valley Mall, Triangle Business Journal reports. The spot was the former home of Steak & Ale and Pizza Hut.
Popular South Carolina rib joint Sardi's Den is hoping to open later this month in the old Oliver Twist location in Brennan Station in north Raleigh, the News and Observer reports. This will be the Clemson, S.C., restaurant's first franchise location.
Menchie's Frozen Yogurt has two new locations opening in the area. The Durham shop, at 3616 Witherspoon Blvd., opens today, April 17, TBJ reports. The grand opening celebration is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature free frozen yogurt! The Cary shop, located in Parkside Town Commons, is opening Monday with a grand opening celebration scheduled for April 25.
Kamado Grille is planning to open on April 27 in the old Lucky 32 location, 832 Spring Forest Road in north Raleigh, according ot the restaurant's Facebook page.
