Triangle HBCUs to compete in academic national championship

RALEIGH, N.C. — It may be the season for March Madness, but Shaw University and the Triangle’s other historically black colleges and universities are getting ready for a different type of national championship.

Shaw, along with St. Augustine’s University and North Carolina Central University, will compete in the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge in Los Angeles on March 21. In its 26th season, the competition pits the smartest from 48 HBCUs nationwide in an academic competition similar to WRAL’s Brain Game.
