WRAL's Brain Game
Weekend warriors can give their brains a workout Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. when North Carolina ninth- and 10th-graders get the chance to compete on WRAL's "Brain Game."
Mark Roberts hosts the match in which teams from three area schools answer questions and score big with parents and peers.
The nine teams with the highest scores at the end of the semester qualify for the Brain Game playoffs. The winners get iPod Shuffles from WRAL and a laptop computer for their school donated by Lenovo.

Content for the show comes from the courses taken by ninth- and 10th-graders throughout the state. The questions include everything from math and science to arts and current events.
The atmosphere combines the excitement of a game show with the thrills of a high school pep rally. Teams are accompanied by cheerleaders, bands, and fans — all adding electricity and an extra element of fun.
As with any game show, TV viewers get to test their knowledge, too. They also get to cheer for their favorite teams. Brain Game airs Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. on WRAL-TV.
