RALEIGH, N.C. — Ozone levels are expected to reach unhealthy levels in the Triangle, Triad and Charlotte metropolitan areas on Wednesday.

The state Division of Air Quality has forecast Code Orange conditions, which can cause breathing problems for sensitive groups such as the very young or old, or those who suffer a lung disease like asthma, bronchitis or emphysema.

People in those categories should limit exertion outdoors, especially in the afternoon hours when pollutants in the air are at their peak.
