'Trap house' for illegal drugs shut down, Lee County man arrested

A man was arrested Thursday after deputies shut down an illegal operation in a Lee County home.

'Trap house' for illegal drugs shut down, Lee County man arrested
SANFORD, N.C. — A man was arrested Thursday after deputies shut down an illegal drug operation in a Lee County home.

Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff's Office used a search warrant to search a home on Carr Creek Road in Sanford, where they found:

  • 232 grams of Oxycodone
  • 264 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms
  • 45 dosage units of Suboxone
  • 40 pounds of marijuana
  • 30 pounds of synthetic cannabinoid
  • Three firearms
  • Other drug paraphernalia

The house was deemed a "trap house" for the storage and sale of illegal drugs and shut down by the sheriff's office.

Michael Epstine Graham, 47, was charged with trafficking opium or heroin, trafficking marijuana, trafficking synthetic cannabinoid, possess with intent to sell and deliver schedule I controlled substance, possess with intent to sell and deliver schedule III controlled substance, maintaining a dwelling for sale of controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

He was jailed under a $300,000 secured bond.
