Tractor trailer catches fire on I-40 in Orange County
A tractor trailer caught fire on Interstate 40 in Orange County overnight.
Posted — UpdatedCHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A tractor trailer caught fire on Interstate 40 in Orange County overnight.
According to the Orange Rural Fire Department, the crash occurred Wednesday around 1 a.m. near Exit 270 for U.S. 15/501 in Chapel Hill.
Multiple fire departments, including the New Hope Fire Department, worked to extinguish the fire.
The road was closed, but all lanes reopened by 2:30 a.m.
There were two trailers on the truck, and officials said it was the back end of one that burned.
