Three sought in robbery of Cary Sears

Posted September 25, 2012

— Cary police are looking at three people wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a local Sears Tuesday morning.

Investigators said two men in their mid-20s walked into the store, at 1105 Walnut St., shortly before 10:30 a.m., took several gaming systems and brandished a knife when a security guard approached them.

They got away in a stolen black Dodge Caliber that was driven by a third person. Authorities said the license plate was covered with pink paper.

Surveillance video showed one of the men, who was black, wearing a white shirt and a neon green baseball cap. He weighed about 215 pounds and stood about 5 feet 9 inches tall.

The second man, also black, had dread locks and was wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans. He weighed about 165 pounds and was also 5 feet 9 inches tall.

Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to contact the Cary Police Department at 919-469-4012 or Cary Crime Stoppers at 919-222-2746.

I used to work at that Sears. People were always snatching and running. It is easy to do at that location, at the end of the mall, on a corner. And even sadder (or dumber) were the ones that would come back a week later and try to return the items for a cash refund. There was always a table of Dockers slacks by the men's department and someone would just grab a giant stack and take 4 steps out the menswear door. They would come back the next day and come to lingerie to return them. DUH - I know where those pants were located and that you couldn't possible wear sizes 32-46! SMH

This was not a "robbery" as in bank robbery. This should be called "shoplifting". Ususally just one person in a bank robbery, here there were three.

storcheim- so because they treated you badly, it's OK for people to steal from them and threaten their employees? Wow! Amazing.

"What doesn't surprise you about it?"

"Really? You don't get it? Or do you just wanna hear it? I think everyone gets it."

Bart, it's just another angry troll who wants to fight everyone who comments. Seems to like criminals.

I vividly recall the treatment I received at Sears in Garner. They treated their female emps just as badly as they did their female customers. No tears for Sears.

"The Cary cops have more time on their hands than they know what to do with. Cary is one of the safest places in the country". kikinc
-Hmmmmmm.....I wonder why Cary is so safe if the cops don't do anything? Maybe it is "Safety through osmosis"?

"Cary is dangerous place to live. Whether its perverts after our children, murderers, or thieves breaking in to homes, Cary has it all!!! They just dont have a police force that can handle it, unfortunately".
    - See the comment above. Before you post something like this, please check your facts. Can you give a reason that Cary is/ has been listed as the safest city in the Southeast and among the top 10 safest in the nation? I can support my facts. Can you?
