Thousands of pills swiped in Cumberland drugstore heist

Some of the pills swiped from Stedman Drug Center, at 7445 Clinton Road in Stedman, include the painkillers hydrocodone and oxymorphone. Detectives said they are concerned about the stolen pills being sold on the street. The drugs are extremely addictive and can be fatal, especially to children and teens.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said the pills are worth thousands of dollars when sold at retail, but the value triples when they are sold on the street.

Investigators said the robbers gained entry to the closed pharmacy by breaking into the drive-though window. Security video captured brief footage of the robbers rifling through medications and stuffing the items into a backpack.

Both were dressed in black. One is believed to be a man, while the gender of the other is indistinguishable.
