Third suspect sought in slaying of Rocky Mount woman

Dayvon Terrell Hudgins, 21, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jordan Olivia Moody. Hudgins remains at large, and police believe he might have left the state.

Shaki Darrell Jones, 21, and Randy Kay Sharpe, 25, have also been charged with first-degree murder in Moody's death. Jones was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. They were being held at the Nash County jail without bond.

Moody  was shot in the head outside Club Element, at 1127 Benvenue Road, after a fender-bender in the parking lot led to an altercation that escalated into gunfire, police said. Jerez Montre Norwood, 21, and Tyshawn Adams, 26, also were wounded in the incident.

State Department of Correction records show that Hudgins, Jones and Sharpe all have criminal records.

DOC records state that Hudgins was released from prison in January after serving nearly two years on a weapons charge. He has previous convictions for carrying a concealed weapon and breaking and entering, among others.

Jones spent more than three years in prison after being convicted of armed robbery in 2006, according to DOC records. While in prison, he racked up 22 infractions, including assault with a weapon, fighting, threaten to harm or injure staff and involvement with a gang.

Sharpe has 2005 and 2007 convictions for breaking and entering, larceny and obtaining property by false pretenses, records show.
