RALEIGH, N.C. — A third person was arrested overnight in Florida in connection with a double homicide at a Raleigh hotel, according to police.

Brandon Xavier Hill is charged in the Friday murders of April Lynn Holland, 22, and her boyfriend, Dwayne Garvey, 28, at the Americas Best Value Inn Crabtree in the 3900 block of Arrow Drive.

According to police, Hill ran from a vehicle driven by his girlfriend, Brittany Kenzell Hooks, 27, on Sunday when police tried to stop the car on Interstate 540. Police said Hooks sped away from officers in an effort to protect Hill.

Hooks appeared before a Wake County judge Monday morning on one count of felony speeding to elude.

Hill was being held in the Okaloosa County Jail.

Another man, Seaga Edward Gillard, 28, is also charged with one count of murder in connection to the shootings. He was being held in the Wake County Detention Center.
