Thief breaks into Fayetteville high school, steals candy

Posted May 31, 2013

— A Fayetteville man is accused of breaking into a high school and stealing lollipops and a ball, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Investigators said Justin Statton Files, 20, of the 500 block of Orlando Street, used a rock to break a window at Howard Health and Life Sciences High School on Camden Road. Deputies patrolling the area saw him running from the school.

The stolen property was valued at $3.20.

Files was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen goods.

He was held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $5,000 bond and is scheduled for a first court appearance Friday.

Look, the guy's blood sugar was low and he also needed a ball to play with because he was bored and there was nowhere else around so he broke in. Makes perfect sense...to the firm of Howard, Fine and Howard

This does sound funny, but, the cost to repair that window won't be cheap, and it'll end up costing tax dollars (even if he does pay for it).
