Taylor to play N.C. concerts for Obama
Music legend James Taylor plans to play five concerts across North Carolina next week in support of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Taylor, a Chapel Hill native, will perform in Charlotte and Asheville on Sunday, in Chapel Hill on Monday and in Raleigh and Wilmington on Tuesday.
Recent polls have shown Obama and Republican candidate John McCain are in a dead heat in North Carolina.
The Charlotte concert will be held at Ovens Auditorium, 2700 E. Independence Ave., and doors will open at 1:30 p.m. The Asheville concert will be held at Martin Luther King Park, 50 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
The Chapel Hill concert will be held on Fetzer Field on the University of North Carolina campus, and doors will open at 5 p.m.
The Raleigh concert will be held at Moore Square downtown, and doors will open at 11:30 a.m. The Wilmington concert will be held at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, at Third and Park streets, and doors will open at 5 p.m.

A member of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Taylor has sold about 40 million albums during his career and has won five Grammy awards.
