FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two men wanted for three robberies and sexual assaults in Cumberland County over the weekend were arrested Tuesday, authorities said.

Cedric Maurice King, 22, of 685 Barton's Landing, and Clifton Lamar Hayes, 27, of 1148 Nan St., were both captured near a vacant home at the corner of Delta Drive and Graham Road in Fayetteville. After a citizen recognized the two men while they walked near the home, King was located by a Fayetteville police K9 while lying in a nearby wood line and Hayes was captured by Cumberland County deputies.

Both men were being processed at the Cumberland County jail Tuesday night. Their bond information was not immediately available.

The pair allegedly drove two of their victims, who willingly entered a vehicle with them, to a wooded area in the county and forced them to perform sexual acts, authorities said. Both incidents happened Sunday - one woman was picked up near the intersection of Murchison Road and Pamelee Drive and the other was picked up near Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

King is charged with two counts of first-degree forcible sexual offense, common law robbery, conspiracy and communicating threats. Hayes is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual offense, common law robbery and conspiracy.

Both men are also charged with the robbery and rape of a woman in Fayetteville on Friday. The victim said she was kidnapped at gunpoint from the Eutaw Village Shopping Center parking lot, then taken to a rural part of the county where she was raped, robbed and left behind.

In that case, King is charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape, first-degree sexual offense, assault by strangulation, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. Hayes is charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape, first-degree sexual offense, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery.
