Suspected Garner bank robber caught in Maryland

Posted February 23, 2012

— A Raleigh man who police say robbed a Garner bank on Tuesday was apprehended in Baltimore on Wednesday night.

Lemar Raymon Dasher, 31, was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle. He was in custody in Maryland Thursday, awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

A man walked into the RBC Bank branch at 1027 U.S. Highway 70 in Garner, demanded money from a teller and fled the area with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Police said the robber used a stolen 2000 Dodge Caravan to make his getaway, and the minivan was recovered in Baltimore.

Dasher was convicted of robbing the same bank in 2008, police said.

Sounds like Mr. Dasher didn't dash far enough away. Sometimes habbits can cost us dearly. His habbit for robbing the same bank is one he can do without. With our crinimal justice system leaking like a coffee strainer he'll probably rob it three more times before he gets to old to pull a bank job.

@Red Rascal....RBC was NOT a part of the bailout! It always amazes me when people make comments and they have no clue as to what they are talking about!!

He is suspected not convicted. Thankfully he was not executed like others have been in Wake County.

And yet they haven't armed themselves to prevent robberies? They must like giving money away to criminals. No wonder they needed a bailout.
