Suspect in Fayetteville club shooting apprehended

A man wanted in a fatal shooting last month at a Fayetteville nightclub was arrested Tuesday, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man wanted in a fatal shooting last month at a Fayetteville nightclub was arrested Tuesday, police said.

Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force took Carlos Roquize Whitted, 30, of Carlos Avenue, into custody shortly before noon at a home in the 600 block of Lyon Street, police said.

Whitted is charged with second-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and shooting into occupied property.

Stephen Bruno, 22, of Hope Mills, was shot to death in the parking lot of Club Ciroc, at 6323 Raeford Road, on March 17. Darrell Wilson, 26, was wounded in the incident and was treated at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
