EFLAND, N.C. — Two middle schoolers injured in pickup game of touch football Friday afternoon have been released from the hospital.

One boy stayed overnight at UNC Hospitals while doctors checked him out for a possible concussion, said Mike Gilbert, a public-information officer for Orange County Schools.

The second boy was treated and released on Friday.

The two eighth graders at Gravelly Hill Middle School, 4801 West Ten Road, were playing a game of touch football during a scheduled break at about 3:20 p.m., Gilbert said. The boys collided when they both went up to catch a pass.
