RALEIGH, N.C. — Large amounts of debris from a storm two weeks ago and the recent heat have combined to delay solid waste, yard waste and recycling collection across Raleigh, city officials said Wednesday.

The yard waste and garbage routes that weren't completed Tuesday would be finished Wednesday, and Wednesday routes would begin as soon as Tuesday collections were finished, officials said.

That likely will create a domino effect for delayed collections through the end of the week, officials said.
