Spring Lake man charged with murder after fatal knife fight
Police said a man was stabbed on D Street in Spring Lake Saturday evening.

Spring Lake detectives have charged Jacolby Emmanuel Floyd, 30, with first-degree murder.
The victim has been identified as Derrick Neal Ervin, 39, of 2004 Abbeydale Lane in Fayetteville.
Neighbors found Ervin unconscious and bleeding in front of the mobile home and gave him CPR. He was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and was declared dead at the hospital.
Based on statements from witnesses, the suspect and victim were involved in a fight in the road. At some point, the suspect allegedly pulled an unidentified type knife and stabbed the victim once in the chest area. Detectives have not determined what provoked the argument.
Floyd has been taken to the Cumberland County Detention Center for a bond hearing before a Cumberland County Magistrate.
