Southern Pines man wanted in fatal shooting surrenders

A man wanted in connection with the shooting death last month of a Southern Pines man surrendered to law enforcement early Monday.

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — A man wanted in connection with the shooting death last month of a Southern Pines man surrendered to law enforcement early Monday.

Carlouse Latour "Carlos" Allbrooks, 31, of Southern Pines, was charged with first-degree murder and was being held without bond in the Moore County jail. He surrendered to Hamlet police at about 2 a.m.

Allbrooks was charged in the Sept. 12 death of Tyrone Terry Allmond, 33, who was found dead outside the Brookside Park Apartments complex, in the 100 block of Coats Street.
