Southbound I-95 closing overnight near Fayetteville

All southbound lanes will be shut down between mile markers 46 and 49. A detour will be posted.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — All southbound lanes of Interstate 95 south of Fayetteville will be closed overnight Thursday night for construction work. The closure was expected to start at 9 p.m. and last until 7 a.m. Friday.

The closure, shown on the map below in red, extends from mile marker 46 (N.C. Highway 87) to milemarker 49 (N.C. Highway 53).

A detour, shown on the map below in blue, will be posted. Southbound travelers should exit I-95 at N.C. Highway 53 and follow N.C. Highway 24 West to U.S. Highway 301 South to N.C. Highway 87 South to return to I-95 South.
