Small plane makes emergency landing at Harnett airport

— A single-engine airplane made an emergency landing Saturday afternoon at the Harnett Regional Jetport, airport staff said.

The pilot of a Beechcraft Bonanza realized that the plane malfunctioned shortly after taking off around 1 p.m. and quickly set the plane back down, staff said. The plane rolled off the side of the runway into some bushes.

No one was injured.

Harnett Regional Jetport is a business-class airport located at 601 Airport Rd., in Erwin, south of Buies Creek.
