ZEBULON, N.C. — The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert Monday for a man missing from Zebulon.

Cole Richard Crawford, 36, is white, stands 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. He has short black hair and hazel eyes and was last seen on West Gannon Avenue wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

A photo wasn't available Monday morning.

Anyone with information about Crawford should call the Zebulon Police Department at 919-823-1818.

Developed in 2007, Silver Alert is a system to quickly notify the public about missing endangered people who suffer from dementia or other cognitive impairments, such as Alzheimer's disease.

It also allows caregivers and nursing homes to report a person missing. In the past, only a family member could report an adult missing.
